One of the largest temples in Thailand has decided to go full control and signal management with Allen & Heath and Earthworks Audio. Wat Tha Sung, or as it is locally known, “Crystal Temple” features a host of indoor and outdoor venues, with Sala 4 Rai taking pride of place within the central temple complex.

After some of their venues were fitted with just a normal mixing system without any further control options, Sonos Libra was awarded by the temple management team due to the fully featured backbone system whilst also being easy to use for the novice operators who are typically controlling the system from day to day. Sonos Libra naturally specified the Allen & Heath dLive system with 128 inputs taken from a multitude of DX164 I/O boxes around the venue.  Due to the vast cabling distances involved, fibre cabling was used with media extenders to ensure reliable use.

High flexibility was required, with 4 different areas for inputs throughout the space, all grouped for easy routing to separate zones within the hall, or to external rooms as required.  As such, Dante was employed for external connections through Dante AVIO adaptors to existing infrastructures.

For ultimate ease of use, a single C1500 control surface was deployed in the control room, with full access to all functionality of the system for the advanced user.  This was paired with an Allen & Heath CC7 touchscreen running Custom Control software, offering easily customisable layouts for both audio and external control.  Local “on-the-floor” control was further achieved with Allen & Heath IP6 control surfaces, communicating over a dedicated control network and providing intuitive “volume knob” style level control for the novice end users.

With such a high level of audio quality provided from the dLive system, the microphones were also not overlooked.  Earthworks Audio FMR720 podium microphones were deployed providing high levels of feedback resistance, and ultimately extremely clear and natural audio without the need for much external processing.
