เปลี่ยนแปลงพื้นที่ Food Court ทั่วไป ให้กลายเป็น All-Day Lifestyle Destination ภายใต้ชื่อ ORK-ROS Foodyard พร้อมระบบเสียงจาก Theory Professional หรืออีกชื่อคือ Theory Audio Design ซึ่งเป็นลำโพงแบรนด์ใหม่ในเครือของ Sonos Libra และนี่คืองานออกแบบและติดตั้งงานแรกของ Sonos Libra ที่ได้เลือกใช้ Theory Professional และ Commercial Sound System ที่ตอบโจทย์รูปแบบการเปลี่ยนผ่านของสถานที่

โจทย์สำคัญของการปรับปรุงพื้นที่ในครั้งนี้ ไม่ใช่แค่เพียงปรับเปลี่ยนหน้าตาการตกแต่งของพื้นที่เท่านั้น แต่คือการออกแบบประสบการณ์ใหม่ให้ผู้คนสามารถใช้พื้นที่นั้นได้ในช่วงเวลาที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น ด้วยแนวคิดที่ต้องการให้พื้นที่สามารถใช้งานได้หลากหลาย ตั้งแต่ช่วงสาย ช่วงกลางวัน ช่วงค่ำ ไปจนถึงช่วงดึก โดยเปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่ 10.00-00.00 น.

ก่อนที่จะกลายเป็น ORK-ROS Foodyard พื้นที่แห่งนี้เป็นที่รู้จักในชื่อ The Cook ซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนชั้น 4 ของ Gaysorn Amarin และเป็นจุดหมายด้านอาหารของคนทำงานและผู้ที่เข้ามาใช้ชีวิตในย่านราชประสงค์

การปรับโฉมครั้งใหม่เปลี่ยนพื้นที่ดังกล่าวให้มีบทบาทมากกว่า Food Court แบบเดิม โดย ORK-ROS Foodyard ถูกวางให้เป็นพื้นที่สำหรับการรับประทานอาหาร การพบปะ และการสังสรรค์ตลอดทั้งวัน โดยเปิดให้บริการตั้งแต่ 10 โมงเช้าจนถึงเที่ยงคืน

เมื่อช่วงเวลาการใช้งานของพื้นที่ยาวขึ้น บรรยากาศที่ต้องการในแต่ละช่วงเวลาก็แตกต่างกันตามไปด้วย

ในช่วงเช้าถึงบ่าย ผู้คนจะเข้ามารับประทานอาหาร พูดคุย จิบกาแฟ นั่งทำงาน หรือพักจากการทำงาน ระบบเสียงจึงต้องมีความเป็นธรรมชาติ เบาสบาย สร้างบรรยากาศอบอุ่น โดยไม่รบกวนกิจกรรมของผู้คนในพื้นที่ แต่เมื่อเข้าสู่ช่วงเย็น พฤติกรรมของผู้ใช้งานก็เริ่มเปลี่ยนไป พื้นที่จะกลายเป็นจุดนัดพบหลังเลิกงาน และเมื่อมี Live Music หรือ DJ เข้ามา ระบบเสียงก็ต้องพร้อมรองรับพลังที่มากขึ้น

นี่จึงเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการออกแบบระบบเสียงที่ ORK-ROS Foodyard เพื่อการใช้งานที่หลากหลาย ตั้งแต่ Background Music ไปจนถึง Live Performance และ DJ พร้อมระบบเบื้องหลังที่ใช้งานง่าย สามารถปรับเปลี่ยน Preset ให้เข้ากับช่วงเวลานั้นๆ ได้อัตโนมัติ

โจทย์สำคัญของ ORK-ROS Foodyard คือการผสานระบบเสียงเข้ากับพื้นที่ Commercial ที่มีผู้ใช้งานหลากหลายและเปลี่ยนไปตลอดทั้งวัน ลำโพงจึงต้องกลมกลืนกับสถานที่โดยไม่โดดเด่นจนรบกวนสายตา ขณะเดียวกันยังต้องมีคุณภาพที่เพียงพอสำหรับทั้ง Background Music, Live Performance และ DJ

Sonos Libra เลือกใช้ Theory Professional ซึ่งเป็นแบรนด์ High-Performance Architectural & Commercial Loudspeakers ที่ออกแบบโดยคำนึงถึงทั้ง Performance และความยืดหยุ่นในการติดตั้ง โดยโครงการนี้ถือเป็นหนึ่งในงานติดตั้งจริงที่ Sonos Libra นำ Theory Professional เข้ามาแนะนำสู่ตลาด Commercial Audio ในประเทศไทย

สำหรับพื้นที่ทั่วไป เราเลือกใช้ลำโพง Ceiling ของ Theory Professional รุ่น ic6 v2 พร้อมติดตั้ง Pendent สีดำ จำนวน 16 ใบ ซึ่งมีลักษณะที่กลมกลืนกับโครงสร้างเพดานแบบเปลือย และเพื่อให้การกระจายเสียงและการบาลานซ์ระดับเสียงมีความครอบคลุมทั่วพื้นที่ ซึ่งเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญสำหรับ Commercial Sound System ที่ต้องการให้เสียงกลายเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพื้นที่

สำหรับพื้นที่หลัก ที่มีการติดตั้งบูธดีเจ และ Backdrop สำหรับการแสดงสดและกิจกรรมต่างๆ ได้มีการติดตั้งลำโพง Theory Professional sb25 ซึ่งเป็นลำโพง Main PA ที่โดดเด่นด้วยคอนเสป High Output Multi-Use Loudspeaker ซึ่งเหมาะกับการใช้งานอเนกประสงค์ ด้วยรูปลักษณ์ที่กลมกลืน ติดตั้งง่าย พร้อมกำลังขับสูง (High-Output) และมีความถี่กว้าง (Wide-Bandwidth)

ในด้าน Low Frequency เราติดตั้ง Theory Professional iws12-9 จำนวน 4 ใบ ซึ่งเป็น Architectural Subwoofer สำหรับงานติดตั้ง ที่ให้กำลังขับสูง พร้อมให้เสียงเบสที่นุ่มลึก ด้วยขนาดกะทัดรัด เรียบหรู จึงเหมาะกับการติดตั้งในพื้นที่ที่ไม่อยากให้ลำโพงดูโดดเด่นออกมา และต้องการคุณภาพและพลังเสียงที่คมชัด พร้อมรองรับสภาพแวดล้อมของเสียงที่เปลี่ยนแปลงได้ตลอดทั้งวัน

สำหรับเบื้องหลังระบบเสียงของที่นี่ นอกจากการเชื่อมโยง Signal Flow, Network, Processing และ Control เข้าด้วยกันแล้ว ยังต้องใช้งานง่าย มีพรีเซ็ตที่สามารถทำงานอัตโนมัติตามช่วงเวลา หรือสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนให้เข้ากับสถานการณ์ได้อย่างยืดหยุ่น ด้วยผู้ใช้งานที่เป็นบุคคลทั่วไป ไม่ใช่ Sound Engineer

เราจึงวางโครงสร้างระบบตั้งแต่ต้นทางของสัญญาณไปจนถึงการควบคุมแต่ละ Zone โดยมี NETGEAR เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ Network Infrastructure และใช้งานสายจาก Klotz เพื่อให้องค์ประกอบต่างๆ สามารถทำงานร่วมกันได้อย่างเป็นระบบ พร้อมรองรับการดูแลระบบในระยะยาว

ในส่วนของ Audio Management และ Processing เราใช้ Allen & Heath AHM-16 เป็นศูนย์กลางในการจัดการ Audio Routing และ Zone Control โดยทำงานร่วมกับ CC7 Controller ซึ่งช่วยให้สามารถควบคุมระบบได้ง่าย เหมาะกับการใช้งานจริงในทุกๆ วัน เรามีการตั้งค่าระบบ Automation และ Preset ที่เหมาะกับแต่ละช่วงเวลาไว้ล่วงหน้าแล้ว ผู้ใช้งานจึงสามารถกดเลือกได้ด้วยปุ่มเดียวที่ถูกตั้งค่าไว้แล้ว โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องเข้าถึงระบบหลังบ้านที่มีความซับซ้อนทุกครั้ง

ขณะเดียวกัน ที่สถานที่ยังต้องรองรับการใช้งานที่มากกว่า Background Music ที่นี่จึงมีมิกเซอร์ Allen & Heath CQ-18T ที่มีขนาดกะทัดรัด โดยมี Wall-mount Connection ที่ออกแบบให้สามารถเชื่อมต่อกับ DJ Booth ได้สะดวก เมื่อมีการใช้งาน DJ หรือ Live Performance จึงสามารถนำ Source เข้าสู่ระบบหลักได้โดยตรง

ในฝั่ง Processing และ Amplification Theory Professional DLC-250.4D ทำหน้าที่เป็นส่วนสำคัญในการขับและจัดการระบบ Loudspeaker พร้อม DSP สำหรับการจัดการ Signal Routing, Matrix, EQ, Delay, Gain และ Limiting รวมถึงรองรับ Network Audio ผ่าน Dante และ AES67

สำหรับ Sonos Libra โครงการ ORK-ROS Foodyard เป็นอีกหนึ่งโอกาสในการนำเสนออีกหนึ่งรูปแบบการออกแบบและติดตั้ง Theory Professional ผ่านการใช้งานจริงใน Commercial Space ที่มีความหลากหลายในการใช้งาน

สิ่งสำคัญจึงไม่ใช่เพียงการเลือกลำโพงที่มี ประสิทธิภาพสูง แต่คือการออกแบบ Complete Audio System Solution ให้เหมาะกับความต้องการของพื้นที่ ให้พลังเสียงที่ครอบคลุม พร้อมปรับแต่งให้ใช้งานง่าย

Transforming a conventional food court into an All-Day Lifestyle Destination requires more than a new look. At ORK-ROS Foodyard, located on the 4th floor of Gaysorn Amarin, the space was redesigned to support a wider range of experiences throughout the day — from daytime dining and casual gatherings to evening entertainment.

As part of this transformation, Sonos Libra designed and installed a new Commercial Sound System featuring Theory Professional, also known as Theory Audio Design. As a new loudspeaker brand introduced by Sonos Libra, ORK-ROS Foodyard marks the first installation project where Sonos Libra selected Theory Professional for a commercial application in Thailand.

The system was designed around a simple requirement: the space needed to sound and operate differently throughout the day, while remaining easy for the venue team to manage.

Before becoming ORK-ROS Foodyard, the space was known as The Cook, located on the 4th floor of Gaysorn Amarin. It had long served as a food destination for office workers and visitors in the Ratchaprasong area.

The renovation gave the space a new role beyond a conventional food court. ORK-ROS was developed as a destination for dining, meeting and spending time throughout the day, with operating hours from 10:00 AM to midnight.

With longer operating hours came different requirements for the atmosphere. During the daytime, guests may be dining, having conversations, enjoying coffee, working or taking a break. The sound system therefore needs to remain natural and unobtrusive, supporting the atmosphere without competing with everyday activities.

As the day moves into the evening, however, the character of the space changes. ORK-ROS can become a meeting point after work, with Live Music, DJ performances and other entertainment requiring a higher level of system performance.

This became the starting point for the sound system design: a system capable of supporting everything from Background Music to Live Performance and DJ, while remaining simple enough for everyday operation. Presets and automation allow the system to adapt to different periods and uses without requiring the venue team to access the more complex system configuration.

One of the key challenges at ORK-ROS was integrating the sound system into a commercial environment with different usage requirements throughout the day. The loudspeakers needed to work with the architecture rather than becoming a visual distraction, while still providing the performance required for Background Music, Live Performance and DJ applications.

Sonos Libra selected Theory Professional, a range of High-Performance Architectural & Commercial Loudspeakers designed with both performance and installation flexibility in mind.

For the distributed system, Theory Professional ic6 v2 was used together with ic6-PENDANT-B, with 16 units of each format. The combination allows the system to maintain a consistent distributed audio approach while adapting the installation format to different areas of the space.

The main performance area, including the DJ booth and backdrop for live performances and events, uses Theory Professional sb25 as the Main PA. Designed as a High-Output Multi-Use Loudspeaker, the sb25 provides the output and bandwidth required for a range of applications while maintaining a form factor suitable for a commercial environment.

Low-frequency extension is provided by four Theory Professional iws12-9 architectural subwoofers. Designed for installation applications, the iws12-9 provides low-frequency performance in a compact architectural format, allowing the subwoofer system to be integrated into the space without becoming a dominant visual element.

Together, the different loudspeaker formats allow the system to address the acoustic and architectural requirements of different areas while maintaining a consistent overall system design.

Behind the loudspeakers is an audio infrastructure designed to connect Signal Flow, Network, Processing and Control while keeping day-to-day operation straightforward for users who are not sound engineers.

Sonos Libra designed the system from the signal source through to individual zone control, with NETGEAR forming part of the Network Infrastructure and Klotz Cable used throughout the cabling system. This provides the underlying infrastructure required for the different components to work together and supports future system maintenance.

At the centre of the Audio Management and Control system is the Allen & Heath AHM-16, handling Audio Routing and Zone Control. It works together with the CC7 Controller, providing a straightforward interface for everyday operation.

The system is configured with predefined Presets and Automation for different periods and operating conditions. Instead of accessing the full system configuration every time a change is required, the venue team can select the appropriate preset from the CC7 with a simple touch. This allows the system to adapt to different uses while keeping day-to-day operation simple.

For Live Performance and DJ applications, the system also includes an Allen & Heath CQ-18T compact digital mixer. A dedicated Wall-Mount Connection provides a convenient connection point at the DJ booth, allowing live or DJ sources to be connected directly into the main audio system when required.

On the Processing and Amplification side, the Theory Professional DLC-250.4D provides loudspeaker amplification and DSP, including Signal Routing, Matrix Mixing, EQ, Delay, Gain and Limiting, with support for Dante and AES67 network audio.

Together, these elements form the backbone of the system — connecting the source, processing, amplification, loudspeakers and user control into one integrated Commercial Audio solution.

For Sonos Libra, ORK-ROS Foodyard represents an opportunity to introduce Theory Professional through a real-world commercial installation where architecture, audio performance and ease of operation all need to work together.

The system combines Theory Professional ic6 v2, ic6-PENDANT-B, sb25 and iws12-9 with DLC-250.4D, while Allen & Heath AHM-16, CC7 and CQ-18T provide the management, control and live-performance capabilities behind the system.

The result is not simply a collection of loudspeakers and equipment, but a Complete Audio System Solution designed around how the space is actually used — from everyday Background Music to Live Performance and DJ.

For a commercial space that changes throughout the day, the goal is not simply maximum output. It is creating a system with the right coverage, performance, flexibility and control to support the space as its use evolves.
